Academy Award nominee Mo’Nique has signed on to host Codeblack Entertainment’s Showtime special “Shaquille O’Neal Presents: All-Star Comedy Jam.”

The show will be filmed in Dallas at AEG Live’s Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie on Feb. 12, and will also be distributed via pay per view, DVD and online. Showtime’s run of the event will premiere sometime this summer.

The announcement came a day after Mo’Nique received a best supporting actress Academy Award nomination for her role in the feature film, “Precious.” The comedian has already won a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award for her role as Precious’ abusive mother Mary Jones.

“All-Star Comedy Jam” will feature stand-ups George Wilborn, Mike Epps, Paul Mooney, Michael Blackson and Corey Holcomb.

“We’re looking to make comedy history because of the chemistry between (Mo’Nique) and Shaw and all the other talented comics in the lineup,” said Codeblack Entertainment CEO Jeff Clanagan.

Codeblack is producing the special, along with Shaq Ent. and AEG Live. The trio are behind the “All-Star Comedy Jam” franchise, having previously produced editions hosted by Cedric “the Entertainer” and D.L. Hughley. The “All-Star Comedy Jam” tapes the night before the NBA All-Star Game.
