I use a lot of cosmetic products and toiletries, and I really love taking them with me when I travel.
A couple of months ago I made a list of all my favorite products. Then I bought a separate set just for taking on trips. That helps me save time because now when I travel I never have to worry about packing my favorite lotions or perfume. They’re always packed in my luggage and ready to go!
Here are some of my favorite tips for packing all my great cosmetics for that perfect trip:
The first thing I do is take all my toiletries and place them in separate Ziploc bags to make sure that they would not leak in my luggage. Then I packed them inside the luggage.
Now all I have to do is make sure that I keep my toiletries kit well stocked. If I start using a different product, or if I run out, I always replace the set in my luggage. I also have a separate blow dryer and flat iron that I use when I travel. I end up packing a lot of toiletries, but it’s worth it.
For example, I travel with my favorite sun screens and lotions and now I never have to worry about skin care issues when I’m traveling.
I have also heard of people preparing clothing packing lists. While I am sure that this works for most, I don’t do it because I like to throw a lot of clothes in my bag for any possible scenario -- too warm, too cold, just right, rain, decide to go to a night club, dinner in my hotel room, layovers, meeting the perfect man, gain 20 pounds -- I think you get the picture.
Also, you may not want to travel with a lot of bags. if this is the case, I highly recommend packing lists because they will help you avoid over packing.
Once you make your lists, you should only have to modify them slightly based on climate, the number of days you’ll be away and the type of travel you are doing.
